Assistant Coach Andy Deichert

Andy Deichert begins his third season
as assistant coach for the Rainbows. Deichert will again play
an instrumental role in Head Coach Mike Anderson's team coaching philosophy.
Deichert was a four-sport athlete at
Riviera Beach Suncoast High School in Florida. He lettered in
football, track, basketball, and swimming. He earned all-state
honors in swimming and track and was a state champion in the high-hurdles.
Deichert went on to garner All-American
honors as a breastroker at Louisiana State University from 1986-90
under former Rainbow head coach Sam Freas. He was also a member
of the United States National Team, winning a silver medal at
the World University Games in Zagreb, Yugoslavia.
After earning his bachelor's degree
in business from LSU in 1993, Deichert held two positions in the
next four years, serving as an administrative assistant at the
International Swimming Hall of Fame then as a marketing/research
director for Ultra Swim Technologies-a sporting goods company.
Deichert entered the coaching field
in 1996 as the head coach for Westminster Academy in Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla., and served as a volunteer coach for the University
of Miami (Fla.) swim team.
The Florida native enjoys surfing, weightlifting,
and playing basketball.
