
Assistant Coach B.J. Bedford

B.J. Bedford begins her coaching debut as the University of Hawai'i's newest assistant swimming coach.
The 28-year-old New Hampshire native brings a wealth of achievements to the table for the squad. She led off the U.S. world record-breaking gold medal 400-meter medley relay team and was sixth in the 100-meter backstroke at the 2000 Olympic games.
Bedford is a seven-time U.S. national champion. She has 23 years of competition under her belt, including 12 years at the elite international level.
For 17 years, she has been a member of the U.S. National Team traveling world-wide competing.
She graduated in 1994 from Texas with a B.F.A. in art history. Bedford is also proficient in both French and German.
