2000: Began the season in the Rainbow bullpen and late in the season played some first base and DH…made 10 relief appearances and played in six games as a position player, four as the DH and two at first base…on the hill, had season-highs in innings pitched (3.0), walks (3), and strikeouts (2) agaisnt Florida (Jan. 20)…lone loss came against Santa Clara (Feb. 19)…opponents batted .222 (LH=.400; RH=.171) against him…hit safely in all six games he started boasting a .381 batting average with seven RBI and scored five times…all six starts as a batter were in WAC games…notched 14 putouts at Hawai'i-Hilo (May 5).

1999: Made 11 short relief appearances…did not allow an earned run in his first four and last three outings…struckout a season-high three batters in one inning of work against UCLA (Jan. 23) getting credit for the combined shutout of the Bruins…made nine one-inning stints…retired seven of the 11 first batters he faced…made just three outings in the WAC allowing five earned runs in 1.1 innings…owned a 2.70 ERA in four outings during the second half of the season…one of the top hurlers at home with a 1.42 ERA in seven showings…in his eight non-WAC appearances, posted a 1.13 ERA…overall, opponents hit .385 (LH=.357; RH=.400).

Prep: A 1998 graduate of Sir Francis Drake High School in San Anselmo, Calif…earned letters in baseball, basketball, and soccer…baseball coach was Jim Purkey…named to the all-league squads his junior and senior seasons in both baseball and basketball…led team to two league titles in baseball and one in basketball…was salutatorian in his senior class with a 4.2 grade point average.
